SOME COMMISSIONS, DEDICATIONS AND PREMIÈRES

 

In addition to taking part in the premières of a number of works by Arthur Wills, including a live broadcast of his Evening Canticles on Plainsong Tones (conducted by the composer) when I was Assistant Organist of Ely Cathedral, I have also given the first performances of many other works for solo organ or harpsichord including the following:

Brian Lincoln: The Sussex Carol with five variations and finale, for harpsichord or portative organ (2000)
  Commissioned for the annual Christmas Concert at Burghley House, Stamford
   
Brian Lincoln: The Houghton Suite for harpsichord (2001)
  Dedicated to Gerald Gifford and first performed at a public recital given at Houghton Hall, Norfolk
in 2001
   
Alan Warren: Two Bagatelles for harpsichord (2000)
  Premièred at a fund-raising concert for Leonard Cheshire Disability, Park House, Sandringham
   
Ronald Watson: Homage to Buxtehude for harpsichord (1992)
  Commissioned by Jane Berry for Gerald Gifford.

  Commissioned by Gerald Gifford with funds from Yorkshire & Humberside Arts and the
University of Hull for the inaugural recital of a new organ in the Chapel of Hull University.
